The stages of the preliminary design of the work on the new Russian helicopter NV.17 have been completed. Currently, the development of the rotorcraft is at the stage of technical design.
According to open sources, high flight performance is planned to be ensured through the use of a hybrid power plant, electromechanical transmission, electric power actuators, and a combined control system on the helicopter.
The prospective helicopter will be able to stay in the air for up to 7 hours on a supply of fuel in the main fuel tanks, and the speed parameters will allow, for example, to cover a distance of 50 km in just 7 minutes.
To perform fire support tasks, the suspension of blocks with unguided rockets is provided. The landing gear struts retract during flight.
