In November 2024, the proportion of drivers in Russia who rent a car for a period of 1 day or more reached 25%. Last year, the number of such drivers was 18%, as evidenced by a TopCar survey.
Russians most often rent a car for 2-3 days. At the same time, almost 64% of respondents use car sharing for tourism, another 15% for business trips, 10% for variety. And only 8% take a car to improve their image.
Car sharing companies have confirmed the trend towards long-term rentals. Delimobil stated that from January to September 2024, the number of trips with rentals for more than 1 day increased by 50% compared to the same period in 2023.
Experts say that the main reason for the demand for car sharing was the difficult situation in the automotive market. About 35% of respondents refused to buy a car due to rising prices. It is known that since the beginning of 2022, prices for new cars have increased up to 60%.
