The Russian MiG-35 fighter was touted as an aircraft with unique capabilities, but in reality, it turned out not to be so advanced. Moreover, the Mikoyan Design Bureau's development has not attracted interest on the international market. This is according to Bulgarian Military.
Analyst Maya Carlin of the Center for Security Policy stated that the MiG-35 is a "complete failure."
The MiG-35 is a multirole fighter designed to perform various combat missions, including gaining air superiority, ground strikes, and reconnaissance. The aircraft is equipped with advanced avionics, including an active phased array antenna and an infrared search and track system.
The MiG-35 is equipped with a combined weapon control system, allowing it to carry a wide range of ammunition, including air-to-air and air-to-ground missiles.
According to Maya Carlin, the MiG-35 has failed to gain the trust of potential buyers. The Russian aircraft lags behind its competitors — the F-16 and Rafale, she concluded.
