The Federal Antimonopoly Service (FAS) of Russia has prohibited Russian telecom operators MegaFon and MTS from charging additional fees from subscribers in Crimea and Sevastopol.
It was established that the markups on communication services have no technological, economic, or other basis.
Representatives of MegaFon reported that they operate in Crimea using the infrastructure of other operators. This leads to roaming expenses.
The communication costs for our subscribers directly depend on the price of services of these operators. We are in constant dialogue with local operators to reduce prices, which ultimately affects the cost of roaming for our subscribers.
VimpelCom noted that voice calls and SMS for Beeline subscribers in Crimea will be deducted from the packages of their current tariff. The plan will be implemented from 2025.
It is worth noting that earlier, additional fees for Crimean subscribers were canceled by VTB Mobile, KTK-Telecom, K-Telecom, and T2 Mobile (T2).
