Russian Su-57 and Su-34NVO fighters have begun using Kh-69 multi-purpose tactical missiles with cluster warheads against strategically important rear targets of the enemy.
Military expert Evgeny Damantsev explained that these munitions are highly effective in engaging personnel at training grounds, concentrations of infantry, as well as aircraft in open parking areas, and the surfaces of passive and active phased array radar stations.
Damantsev recalled that the first batches of Kh-69s, which entered service with the Russian Aerospace Forces, were equipped with penetrating high-explosive fragmentation warheads and proved their potential in overcoming missile defense barriers formed by mixed batteries of Patriot PAC-2 GEM-C / PAC-3MSE SAM systems.
This potential is achieved thanks to the low-altitude flight profile and the widespread use of composite and radio-absorbing materials in the airframe design, reducing the effective radar cross-section to 0.02 - 0.03 sq. m. The range of the Kh-69 reaches 290 km.
Earlier www1.ru reported that the universal UAV "Brazhnik" with "Hermes" will go into mass production. The drone is currently being tested in several application scenarios.
