KMZ to repair M640 engine for automated diesel power plant

The main feature of the model is the absence of a toe and shock absorber on the crankshaft

The Kingisepp Machine-Building Plant (KMZ) military-industrial holding will repair the M640 engine. This was reported by the company's press service.

The M640 diesel engine is used as marine units. It is installed on diesel locomotives, trains and electric generator drives.

The main feature of the model is the absence of a shock absorber and toe on the crankshaft. The M640 is designed for installation on diesel power plants.

The engine is part of the BES-630 automated diesel power plant, enclosed in a block container without a chassis. It is designed to supply alternating three-phase current to various consumers with power and lighting loads, and can be used as an emergency power source, automatically activated by instrumentation and control systems within 15 seconds after the disappearance of voltage in the external network.
