Studies were conducted on Scots pine and awnless brome seedlings

Moscow State University named after M.V. Lomonosov and Kemerovo State University have developed an innovative method for using quarry wastewater to grow pine seedlings. This was reported by the press service of the Ministry of Education and Science of Russia.

It was decided to use quarry wastewater for growing planting material and further reclamation of mine dumps.

It turned out that they contain potentially useful iron, manganese and zinc, as well as bound nitrogen and phosphorus. Cadmium and lead can be harmful, but they were not found in the wastewater we studied.

Specialists conducted successful studies on Scots pine and awnless brome seedlings. In the future, it is planned to check the condition of other plant species.
