В России изымают автомобили, ввезенные по мошеннической схеме из Казахстана

More than 800 cars at the center of a criminal case due to unpaid loans

Russians have become victims of a fraudulent scheme involving the import of cars from Kazakhstan. This is reported by Gazeta.Ru.

The essence of the scam was that citizens of Kazakhstan were offered to register new cars in their name on credit with the promise that they would be used in taxi fleets and car rentals. The organizers of the scheme assured that borrowers would later be able to buy the car at a reduced price, and loans for cars would be paid by car dealerships.

About 800 cars were exported from Kazakhstan and sold in Russia. However, the fraudsters did not fulfill their obligations, and in February 2024 stopped paying off loans. Kazakh citizens began to contact the police, stating that they had become victims of fraud. In Russia, mass seizures of sold cars began.

A criminal case has been initiated on this fact. The cars have been declared internationally wanted. One of the organizers of the scheme has already been detained by law enforcement agencies.
