Russian Armed Forces servicemen successfully tested the advanced Rapira-2 multi-purpose multiple launch rocket system (MLRS) during demonstration firing at the Kapustin Yar training ground. This was reported by Defence blog.
The Rapira-2 complex, mounted on an AMN-590951 Spartak multi-purpose armored vehicle, is designed to detect, track, and neutralize small-sized aerial targets, including unmanned aerial vehicles.
Rapira-2 is equipped with a sophisticated radar and electro-optical system, which allows it to monitor the surrounding environment, detect and engage both air and ground targets. The system includes electronic warfare capabilities to jam drone communications.
Defence blog writes, citing sources, that Rapira-2 is being integrated into Russia's air defense system.
