Минцифры утверждает, что Google мог ограничить создание аккаунтов для россиян

Google has not yet confirmed this information

The Ministry of Digital Development, Communications and Mass Media of Russia claims that Google has introduced restrictions on the creation of new accounts for users from the Russian Federation.

The agency notes that SMS confirmation of authorization for previously created accounts continues to work.

According to information from the Ministry of Digital Affairs, telecom operators have noticed a significant reduction in the number of SMS messages sent by Google to Russian users. Although SMS confirmation as a second authentication factor for existing accounts is still available, there is no certainty that this feature will remain in the future.

In this regard, the ministry recommends that Russian users of Google services create backups of their data and consider switching to alternative methods of two-factor authentication or using domestic platforms.

There has been no official confirmation of the information from the American company Google.
