Mobile operator MTS has upgraded mobile communication networks in major cities and towns of the Republic of Sakha (Yakutia). Internet speed in the region has increased by an average of 25% due to the transfer of 3G frequencies to the modern LTE standard. This was reported by the company's press service.
Releasing frequencies for the most efficient ranges has helped to increase network capacity by a quarter, and our subscribers will be able to feel a noticeable increase in mobile internet speed. In addition, the transfer of frequencies to LTE allows us to expand access to VoLTE — voice communication technology.
The upgrade affected six settlements — Mirny, Lensk, Vilyuisk, as well as the village of Suntar, the village of Khandyga, and the urban-type settlement of Aikhal. Improvements in the network operation affected the entire territory of these settlements, including residential areas, social institutions, and places of mass events.
Earlier, www1.ru reported that Beeline abandoned outdated technology in Moscow.
