The development of the "Inokhodets" unmanned aerial vehicle was carried out in 2011 by the company "Tranzas", then the project was transferred to the Kronstadt Group. Now the "Inokhodets", which is one of the first models of the MALE (Medium Altitude, Long Endurance) UAV class, is in service with the Russian Armed Forces and effectively hits enemy targets. This is written by "Military Review."
For the first time, "Inokhodets" was involved in combat operations in Syria. In recent years, it has also been actively used by Russian military personnel.
"Inokhodets" is a heavy-class UAV; the device can carry equipment for reconnaissance and ammunition. The drone was built according to a normal aerodynamic configuration with an elongated fuselage, a straight wing and a V-shaped tail.
Key advantages of the "Inokhodets" UAV
The UAV executes operator commands or independently solves simple piloting tasks. "Inokhodets" is equipped with an optoelectronic station (OES) for reconnaissance missions.
The main advantages of the "Inokhodets" are related to its flight performance characteristics. The drone is capable of flying up to 24 hours and moving hundreds of kilometers away from the launch site. Thanks to this, wide operational capabilities are achieved for performing various tasks - both reconnaissance and strike.
"Inokhodets" is classified as a universal air platform that carries cargo for various purposes. The UAV lifts up to 200 kg, and a line of precision-guided missiles and bombs has been developed for it. With their help, the operator can hit targets at a distance of up to 10 km and avoid enemy short-range air defense systems.
