The Ministry of Industry and Trade noted a decrease in the level of localization of AvtoVAZ models. In June of this year, LADA Vesta received 5002 points, although at the beginning of the year the figures were 5471 points, Granta - 4293 points, and in March - 5054 points, the localization indicators for LADA Niva also decreased. The head of AvtoVAZ explained why this happened.
The top manager said that there are two points: technical and theoretical. The first is the presence of the Japanese Jatco variator in some LADA Vesta and LADA Granta configurations. Such a variator was installed on the Vesta earlier, and the Granta was equipped with Jatco this year. These were cars from old stocks. Both configurations were included in the calculation of the Ministry of Industry and Trade.
According to Sokolov, the theoretical point is that the points decreased due to the use of research and development work.
Points were calculated in relation to the volume of production and its cost. The cost increased, the volumes also increased, and therefore the share of these costs also increased. We spend more money on R&D, and due to the increase in production volumes, the "weight" of these points decreases for us.
He stressed that it would be correct to award points for the use of R&D based on absolute investment figures. Thus, the more the manufacturer invested in research and development, the more points he received.
Sokolov also said that the increase in prices for LADA is not related to a possible increase in the recycling fee. According to him, there was a price indexation in August, which is less than the inflation in the state. He added that the next indexation will depend on the rate of inflation.
