The kamikaze drone "Prince Vandal of Novgorod", which is controlled via a fiber optic line, has a number of advantages over wireless drones. The main advantages of the new Russian drone were outlined by Alexey Chadaev, General Director of the Scientific and Industrial Center (SIC) "Ushkuynik".
According to him, the "Prince Vandal of Novgorod" is invulnerable to reconnaissance and electronic warfare equipment, does not depend on the terrain, and has a high speed of information exchange between the control station and the device (about 1 gigabit per second in both directions).
At the same time, the cost of the new drone is approximately equivalent to an FPV drone controlled by radio waves.
The developer attributed the risks of cable breakage, limitations on its flight range and maneuverability to the disadvantages of the UAV. Chadaev noted that 10 launches account for an average of up to 2 breaks.
Earlier, footage of a devastating strike by the Iskander-M on the Western M270 MLRS MLRS appeared on the Web. The circular probable deviation of the 9M723-1 missile did not exceed 17 meters.
