Sees SCALP-EG at 10 km, F-16 at 100 km. Capabilities of the Su-35S fighter in repelling air attacks

Target designation is due to the OLS-35 optoelectronic sighting system

Russian Su-35S fighters can be successfully used to intercept low-observable SCALP-EG and JASSM-ER tactical missiles thanks to the OLS-35 optoelectronic sighting systems from NPK "Systems of Precision Instrument-Making" and the nose ultraviolet sensor for scanning the upper hemisphere from the detection system architecture. This was pointed out by military expert Evgeny Damantsev.

According to him, the first one operates in the TV/IR ranges and provides detection of an F-16AM type target in the rear hemisphere on afterburner at an echelon of 7000 - 10000 m at a distance of up to 85 - 100 km, at the maximum non-afterburner mode of the TRDDF - up to 30 - 35 km.

This complex provides covert use of the R-74M, R-77-1 and R-37M air-to-air missiles without the use of the onboard PFAR radar "Irbis-E". OLS-35 is also capable of detecting low-observable SCALP-EG and JASSM-ER tactical missiles in the rear hemisphere at a distance of up to 10 km and issuing target designation to the above-mentioned air-to-air missiles.

Earlier, footage of the destruction of the M270 MLRS MLRS by a strike from the Iskander-M appeared on the Web appeared. The circular probable deviation of the 9M723-1 missile did not exceed 17 meters, which was quite enough to hit the MLRS with a fragmentation field.
