Ships of the Caspian Flotilla practiced artillery fire, destruction of a floating mine, and missile strikes during the strategic exercises "Ocean-2024." The Russian Ministry of Defense involved the missile ship "Dagestan," small artillery ships "Volgodonsk" and "Astrakhan."
The ship crews practiced tasks to destroy a sea mine posing a threat to civil navigation. Fire on the target was conducted from standard large-caliber machine guns.
Also, the warships performed artillery fire from 100-mm guns at a sea target simulating a warship of a mock enemy.
A tactical group of the flotilla, consisting of two small missile ships, practiced tasks to strike a group of enemy ships with sea-based missile weapons, performing electronic launches of Kalibr anti-ship cruise missiles.
In addition, as part of the exercises, submarines, warships, and coastal missile systems of the Northern and Pacific Fleets launched a joint missile strike against sea targets of a mock enemy. In the Sea of Japan, the missile boats "R-18" and "R-14" were the first to fire Moskit cruise missiles.
After that, in order to weaken the enemy's air defense systems, the corvette "Hero of the Russian Federation Aldar Tsydenzhapov" of the Pacific Fleet struck the target with an Kh-35 cruise missile from the Uran missile system.
Another strike on a complex target position was carried out by the crew of the nuclear-powered missile cruiser "Omsk." Two Granit anti-ship cruise missiles were launched at the target from a submerged position. From the coast of the Sea of Japan, the calculations of the Bal and Bastion coastal missile systems of the Pacific Fleet also attacked the targets of a mock enemy. The firing was conducted with Kh-35 and Onyx cruise missiles, respectively.
