Production of wooden gunpowder for shells mastered in Russia: not inferior in quality to traditional one

A set of tests confirmed the effectiveness of the mixture

The "Techmash" holding (part of Rostec) has mastered the industrial production of gunpowder for ammunition from wood cellulose. The new explosive mixture is not inferior in its characteristics to the traditional one, which is produced using raw materials from cotton.

The concern noted that a series of practical firing and tests confirmed the effectiveness of the new product. Cotton in Russia is mainly imported, and there is no shortage of wood in the country.

First Deputy Prime Minister Denis Manturov cited this case as an example of effective public-private partnership, when a new production was mastered very quickly with the participation of private investment.

We can say that it is thanks to this partnership between the state and business that we managed to launch the production of gunpowder wood cellulose in two years, replace cotton cellulose with it and get cheaper products of very high quality, while minimizing dependence on raw materials.

Earlier www1.ru reported that the Russian Armed Forces used the Orion UAV with TKB-103 missiles. Thanks to laser guidance, the ammunition confidently demolishes tank turrets in battle.
