The only surviving Soviet strategic bomber Tu-4 in Russia will be restored. Unique footage of the process of cleaning the aircraft from traces of paint and dirt has appeared on the Web.

The Tu-4 was in service with the long-range aviation of the Air Force from 1949 to the 1960s. It was equipped with the world's first remote control system.

The works are carried out within the framework of the scientific and educational project of the Ministry of Defense of the Russian Federation and the Union of Restorers of Russia "On guard of the sky of the Motherland".

The Tu-4 is a copy of the American B-29 bomber. Its equipment and design, up to the interior of the pressure cabins, were copied from the American analogue. The only exceptions were the radio station, the propeller-motor group of the power plant and the cannon armament.

This strategic bomber is the first Soviet nuclear weapon carrier aircraft. The creation of the aircraft allowed the aviation industry of the USSR to reach a new technological level in the shortest possible time.

Earlier www1.ru reported that the Russian Armed Forces used the Orion UAV with TKB-103 missiles. Thanks to laser guidance, the ammunition confidently demolishes tank turrets in battle.
