Russian Aircraft Arrives at Egypt International Airshow 2024

The fifth-generation Su-57 multirole fighter, equipped with the high-precision Kh-69 cruise missile, is participating in the Egypt International Airshow 2024, which is taking place in Cairo. The exhibition of modern aviation equipment will last until September 5. This is reported by Bulgarian Military.

Russia also presented the Ka-52 "Alligator" helicopter, the "Product 305E" guided missile, the Orlan-10E UAV and the Orlan-30 in tandem with the RB-504P-E drone countermeasures system at the exhibition. The Russian stand in Egypt features the Tor-M2 and Viking anti-aircraft systems.

The Russians are possibly looking for a partner to produce the Su-57. Right now there is mostly “media interest” from some African countries.

Algeria is one of the operators of Russian military equipment and is considered the most likely buyer of the Su-57. Another important partner for Russia is Egypt itself.

Negotiations are still in the early stages, but Algeria appears to be the furthest along. Russia is actively promoting the export version of the Su-57E fighter, which features a new engine design and improved avionics. But the high cost and mixed assessments of the aircraft's capabilities are hindering deals.
