The corvette "Rezky" of the Pacific Fleet of Russia was included in the "Book of Records of the Armed Forces of the Russian Federation" based on the results of training firing. This was reported to the President of the Russian Federation Vladimir Putin by the commander of the corvette, Evgeny Kovalev.
According to him, the crew performed three firings at the supersonic Mosquito missile. Previously, similar exercises with the destruction of this type of projectile were not performed.
On Wednesday, the head of state visited the basing point of the Primorsky Flotilla in Vladivostok, where the corvette is located. The President boarded the ship, where he was met by the commander of the Pacific Fleet Viktor Liina, the commander of the Primorsky Flotilla of heterogeneous forces of the Pacific Fleet Alexei Sysuev, and the commander of the corvette Evgeny Kovalev.
The naval officers led the Supreme Commander-in-Chief inside the ship and spoke about the peculiarities of naval service. In response, Putin wished the sailors of "Rezky" success in the sacred cause of defending the Fatherland.
"Rezky" is the newest corvette of Project 20380. It is designed for artillery support of naval landings during naval landing operations, conducting combat against enemy submarines and surface ships, as well as operations in the near sea zone.
The Redut air defense system has 3x4 VLSUs with 12 highly maneuverable 9M96DM SAMs equipped with active radar homing heads "Slanets", noted military expert Evgeny Damantsev.
The ship was laid down in Komsomolsk-on-Amur on July 1, 2016. In 2021, the corvette arrived in Vladivostok to undergo a testing program, and in September 2023, it was accepted into the Navy of the Russian Federation.
Earlier, the former Deputy Commander-in-Chief for Air Force Issues of the CIS Joint Air Defense System, Lieutenant General of the Reserve Aytech Bizhev, expressed the need to rethink Russian air defense. According to him, the system needs to switch to automated control.
