«Летающий танк» Т-80БВМ начали использовать в роли артиллерии на фронте: в Ростехе заявили об успешности опыта

The accuracy of fire is adjusted with the help of drones

Russian T-80BVM tanks at the forefront began to be used for artillery tasks at the front. Rostec noted that this metamorphosis became possible thanks to a new sighting system, as well as the long range and accuracy of the gun. This application is dictated by the need to work from closed firing positions away from the line of contact.

The machine also has an improved 125-mmm gun and a modified gas turbine engine. It is also equipped with new multi-channel commander's and gunner's sighting system, a weapon stabilizer and a driver's observation device. The armor is reinforced with a modular dynamic protection system, as well as anti-cumulative lattice screens.

Due to the peculiarities of the theater of military operations, tanks are regularly used as self-propelled guns – for firing from closed positions. Extensive experience has been accumulated in this application. Today, sufficient accuracy of hitting targets by tanks when firing "self-propelled" is ensured. Their fire is adjusted with the help of UAVs and reconnaissance.
