The Russian anti-aircraft missile system "Pantsir-S1" has proven itself on the positive side in the destruction of GMLRS rockets of the American HIMARS MLRS. This was pointed out by military expert Evgeny Damantsev.
He drew attention to the fact that in one of the latest such episodes, objective control of the interception by the combat stage of the 4.3-Mach 57E6 anti-aircraft missile was carried out by the thermal imaging channel of the multispectral optoelectronic module 10ES1.
Possessing an effective reflecting surface of about 0.07 sq. m, the 227-mm guided missile M31A1 was detected by the RLM SOC S-band radar complex at a distance of about 10 km, after which it was intercepted by the second SAM at a distance of about 6200 m.
Earlier it became known how Russia is able to respond to the creation of the B61-12 thermonuclear aerial bomb in the USA. Experts consider it necessary to develop the Sarmat, Poseidon or Kinzhal systems.
