Deputy Davankov proposed introducing labeling of alimony debtors' profiles

State Duma Vice-Speaker from the "New People" party, Vladislav Davankov, has sent an appeal to the head of the Ministry of Digital Development of the Russian Federation, Maksut Shadaev, proposing to introduce mandatory labeling of alimony debtors' profiles on dating sites. This is reported by RIA Novosti.

Davankov put forward this initiative in light of the law on the creation of an open register of alimony debtors. In his opinion, marking debtors' profiles on dating sites could be an effective tool to accelerate alimony payments and protect users from unwanted acquaintances with evaders.

The initiative aims to ensure that owners of dating sites and services can receive information about debtors from the public register, which is scheduled to launch in May 2025. Given modern facial recognition technologies, such labeling could be automatically added to the debtor's profile.

The proposed mechanism will not only encourage debtors to pay alimony but also increase the protection of online platform users from communicating with people who have alimony debts.
