Mini-drones may be integrated into the Russian BMP-3 infantry fighting vehicle. This was reported by the press service of the "High-Precision Systems" holding (part of Rostec).
The company noted that the introduction of drones into armored weaponry and equipment is one of the priority tasks for specialists at JSC "SKBM".
Currently, a joint work schedule for integrating mini-UAVs into the BMP-3 infantry fighting vehicle and organizational solution projects are being согласовываются. Following the results of standard tests, it is planned to include drones in the design documentation of armored vehicles.
Military expert of the magazine «Армейский стандарт» Stanislav Krapivnik noted that the BMP-3 has an advantage over the German Marder and the American M2 Bradley. The Russian vehicle has proven to be the most effective machine, combining high maneuverability and a low profile with a high level of armament.
The BMP-3 has been in service with the Russian army since 1987, manufacturer "Kurganmashzavod". Capacity - three crew members and up to seven paratroopers. The floating vehicle is armed with a 100 mm cannon (with the possibility of launching guided missiles) and three (coaxial and two course) 7.62 mm machine guns. Weight - 18.7 tons, highway speed - 70 km/h.
