Nuclear power plants are planned to be built in nine regions of the country

The draft general scheme for the location of power facilities until 2042 envisages the construction of 11 new nuclear power plants in Russia in addition to the existing and under construction ones. This was reported by TASS with reference to the data of the project "General Scheme for the Location of Power Facilities until 2042".

Leningrad Nuclear Power Plant

Presumably, the stations will be erected in various regions of the country, including the Chukotka Autonomous Okrug, Khabarovsk, Krasnoyarsk and Primorsky Krai, Tomsk, Chelyabinsk, Sverdlovsk and Rostov Regions, as well as Yakutia.

Kola Nuclear Power Plant

By 2036, the installed capacity of all Russian nuclear power plants should reach 34,576 MW, which will be 12.3% of the total installed capacity of power plants in the country, and by 2042 this figure will be 45,841 MW, or 15.9%.
