В Москве предложили штрафовать шумных водителей на 25 000 рублей

The author of the initiative refers to the experience of St. Petersburg

Roman Krastelev, a candidate for deputy of the Moscow City Duma, has proposed increasing the fine to 25,000 rubles for drivers in the capital whose cars and motorcycles exceed 96 decibels. Currently, noisy drivers can be fined 500 rubles.

Today, noise on the road exceeding 96 decibels is prohibited, as it disturbs the peace and reduces the quality of human life.

According to him, there is a technical solution that can be used to check vehicles for noise. Krastelev said that there is an experimental complex in the capital for measuring the noise level of cars, and the first measurements were made on Chistoprudny Boulevard.

The politician proposes to adopt the experience of St. Petersburg, where drivers have been punished for noisy cars since the beginning of August. The press service of the Main Department of the Ministry of Internal Affairs for the city and the Leningrad Region reported that 15 drivers were brought to justice. They must eliminate structural changes in vehicles, otherwise the registration of cars will be canceled, and the numbers will be written off to the archive.

In addition, Krastelev advocates increasing the fine for noise.

[We need to] increase the fine from 500 rubles to 25 thousand rubles.

Auto journalist Maxim Kadakov believes that the initiative to deal with such drivers will gradually move from Moscow and St. Petersburg to other cities. Perhaps there will be fewer cars and motorcycles with straight-through exhausts on the roads.
