The hand-held artillery anemometer is used to adjust the course of shells among artillerymen, mortar men, and snipers. It is popular at the front and is being actively modernized.
At the "Army-2024" forum, this device is presented by a rather unusual design bureau developer. Its creators have French roots, but they see the implementation of their technological ideas exclusively with Russia.
The hand-held artillery anemometer is a completely Russian development; the design bureau created it from scratch. The components of the device are used as much as possible domestically. It works simply.
We look at where we have the wind direction [in this case] to the north, and we look at the parameters [of the device]. When the wind blows, the anemometer reads the direction of the wind in which it blows and its speed. In this model of ours, the anemometer also measures temperature and pressure — these are quite important parameters for the artilleryman's work. It can be placed on a stand to control it remotely, or if [working with the anemometer] needs to be done for a long time, or you can hold it in your hands.
According to Lesieur, the moisture-resistant device comes with its own application. It connects to a repeater, and then the anemometer data is displayed on the screen of a tablet or smartphone.
The strike will be many times more accurate, more accurate than this, I would say, is impossible if you use this device. This is its great advantage. We don't really have any competitors among those who produce such devices yet.
The International Military-Technical Forum "Army-2024" is held in the Patriot Exhibition Center from August 12 to 14. This year, the "Army" forum is being held in a closed format for the first time: canceled all entertainment events and free access to exhibitions for viewers.
