A new means of countering enemy unmanned aerial vehicles has been developed for the Russian military. At the Army-2024 forum, multifunctional complexes for detecting and destroying small-sized targets such as unmanned aerial vehicles, placed on two-axle armored vehicles, were presented.
The new products received the designation "Rapira-2" and "Rapira-3". The first is armed with 7.62-mm machine guns, the second with ten 80-mm S-8 aircraft missiles.
Previously, this weapon had already proven itself on various helicopters and airplanes during use against ground targets. Now it will be used to work in the "ground-to-air" mode.
Earlier www1.ru reported that the modernized 2S25M self-propelled anti-tank gun received improved armor protection to increase resistance to impacts from small-caliber cannon shells. It is being prepared for adoption into the Armed Forces of the Russian Federation.
