Землю накрыла магнитная буря, она продлится до конца понедельника

Russian Academy of Sciences Explains Whether to Fear the Expected Magnetic Storm

The magnetic storm, which was expected to begin within a few days, started on Sunday evening, after 17:09 Moscow time. This was reported by Mikhail Leus, a leading specialist at the Phobos weather center.

Initially, the storm was weak, class G1, but gradually its intensity increased. By Monday morning (after 03:56 Moscow time), it reached the average level — class G2.

According to updated forecasts, the magnetic storm will continue almost until the end of the day, with intensity fluctuations from medium to weak. On Tuesday, isolated periods of weak geomagnetic disturbances are expected, but by Wednesday the Earth's magnetosphere should return to a calm state.

Dmitry Vibe, Head of the Department of Physics and Evolution of Stars at the Institute of Astronomy of the Russian Academy of Sciences, in an interview with the Zvezda TV channel, noted that these flares and magnetic storms do not have a significant impact on health. According to the specialist, if a weather-sensitive person is warned in advance about an upcoming magnetic storm, they may feel worse on that day, but this is more likely due to a psychological effect. If they are not told anything, their condition is unlikely to change.

Vibe also added that during magnetic storms, the probability of cardiac incidents may slightly increase, but this risk is small and is lost against the background of other stresses that people face in everyday life.
