The Federal Medical-Biological Agency (FMBA) presented several key developments in the field of radiation, chemical, and biological safety, as well as for the treatment and rehabilitation of military personnel, at the "Army-2024" forum, TASS reports.
Among the key developments presented at the exhibition is an autonomous automatic signaling device for biological reconnaissance, which detects and identifies biological agents, including bacteria, viruses, and toxins, in real time. In addition, a set of radiation and chemical protection equipment was shown, designed to prevent and treat the effects of exposure to hazardous chemicals and radiation.
All presented systems are designed for autonomous operation in emergency situations, including combat, and do not require special operator training. Deputy Minister of Defense Anna Tsivileva emphasized that developments such as analyzers capable of identifying microorganisms and toxic substances in two minutes can be vital for the military.
In the field of rehabilitation, a portable neurorehabilitation simulator with biofeedback and virtual reality was presented, which is designed to restore the motor function of the upper extremities after injuries. This simulator can be used already in the acute phase of treatment in hospitals and is focused on the rehabilitation of paralyzed limbs.
A unique spinal neuroprosthesis was also demonstrated, designed for motor neurorehabilitation of patients with vertebro-spinal injuries. The prosthesis combines spinal cord electrical stimulation technology with special exercises, which significantly reduces recovery time.
