Specialists from the Perm National Research Polytechnic University (PNRPU) have started creating a monosnowmobile (a hybrid of a snowmobile and a motorcycle). This was reported in the press service of the university.
The new vehicle is planned to be used for transporting people and goods on snow and ice.
Specialists have developed a unique double-lever skid system suspension to improve cross-country ability and maneuverability. A modular design will also be used in the development. It will allow the monosnowmobile to be transported in a car. Due to quick-release connections, the vehicle can be assembled in 10-15 minutes.
It will be resistant to temperatures and easy to maintain. Low fuel consumption and an optimized design will reduce operating costs.
Specialists have already created a tracked module and calculated a 3D model of the product. The estimated cost of the monosnowmobile is 125 thousand rubles. It is planned to be created this year.
