It became known what the Progress MS-28 cargo ship is carrying to the ISS

In addition to water, food, nitrogen and other cargo, there is unique equipment on board

RKK Energia said that the Progress MS-28 cargo ship will soon be heading to the ISS. It has already been docked with the transfer compartment, which provides a mechanical connection between the ship and the fairing and integrates its command interface into the rocket's onboard control system. The command and telemetry system equipment was also checked.

Now Progress MS-28 is ready for the upcoming pre-flight author's inspection. The cargo ship will deliver 2621 kg of cargo to the International Space Station. This includes:

  • equipment and hardware for station systems;
  • clothing, food, medicines for the crew;
  • 950 kg of fuel for refueling the station;
  • 50 kg of nitrogen for the ISS atmosphere;
  •  420 kg of drinking water.

The most valuable cargo is the packages for scientific experiments. For example, an X-ray spectrometer for the "Monitor of the Whole Sky" experiment, and equipment for experiments called "Forced Exhalation" and "Endothelium".

The Forced Exhalation experiment studies how prolonged space flight affects lung function, and Endothelium explores the effect of the Earth's geomagnetosphere on the development of cardiovascular diseases.

Progress MS-28 will launch from Baikonur on August 15, and GK Roscosmos will broadcast the launch.
