Google Servers in Russia May Be Confiscated Due to Unpaid Debt of 10 Billion Rubles

The company has the right to appeal until August 26, 2024

The American company Google owes the Russian "daughter" LLC "Google" 10 billion rubles, but is in no hurry to cover the debt. This may cause the company's servers in Russia to be seized.

The company can appeal until August 26 of this year.

In Google's volumes, these 10 billion rubles are not a significant amount. If this requirement subsequently interferes with their further activities in their core business, they may pay it off, and if they do not pay this requirement voluntarily, then the recovery may take a significant amount of time, and they may sue for a long time and not pay.

Specialists of LLC "Google" do not exclude the repayment of the fine at the expense of Google's property located in Russia. There is a possibility that the arrest was not executed because the servers are owned or leased by a Russian business.

Regarding the property - servers, it is not clear on what basis and where they are located. Perhaps they are burdened with certain agreements, so they have not yet been arrested.

It is worth noting that at the beginning of July this year, the Arbitration Court of the city of Moscow appointed the recovery of 10 billion rubles from Google. The plaintiff was the subsidiary Russian structure LLC "Google".
