Russian military personnel on the front lines have received the DS-T4 sight with a ballistic computer for AGS-17 and AGS-30 automatic grenade launchers. The device was developed in 2023 and has already been tested on the battlefield.
The device is an optical sight combined with a ballistic calculator and laser rangefinder, which allows the grenade launcher to calculate the trajectory and instantly receive a hint about the necessary corrections for an accurate shot.
Thus, the AGS-17 "Plamya" and AGS-30 automatic grenade launchers have become sniper weapons. Compared to its predecessor, the AGS-30 has reduced dimensions and weight — up to 16.5 kg. At the same time, the "thirty" can fire both VOG-17 and specially designed VOG-30.
One VOG-30 shot weighing 350 grams covers targets with fragments over an area of up to 100 m². Another advantage of the AGS-30 is the increased firing range of up to 2200 m, while the AGS-17 has a range of only up to 1700 m.
Earlier, military expert Evgeny Mikhailov reported to www1.ru, that Russian long-range R-37M missiles will become a serious threat to F-16 fighters on the front lines.
