At the Biological Institute of Tomsk State University (BI TSU), in collaboration with the Tomsk Scientific Research and Design Institute of Oil and Gas (TomskNIPIneft), a new technology for cleaning soil from oil and salt contamination has been proposed. This was reported by the university's press service.
Scientists conducted a study and found that salts occur in the soil at a depth of 70 to 130 cm. This makes it difficult to assess the extent of soil contamination.
Chloride ions have a high migration capacity, forming a salt accumulation horizon, which is located at a significant depth. Over time, salts rise to the upper layers and are carried out of the soil with melt and rain water, often entering rivers and other bodies of water, which negatively affects the ecosystem as a whole.
The TSU press service explained that the new method will allow for the reclamation of soil after technogenic salinization. The technology is based on a reclamation method. It involves the creation of trenches and drainage channels and does not require high costs.
During precipitation, the network will allow the soil to be cleaned of technogenic salts. As a post-treatment of soils, it is planned to apply gypsum fertilizers and plant salt-tolerant plants (plantain, fescue, clover).
Earlier, www1.ru reported that agrodrones for increasing the harvest were developed in Perm.
