The government of the Sakhalin Region and the Belarusian «BelAZ» signed a cooperation agreement. According to the document, three 130-ton dump trucks will be delivered to Sakhalin by 2025 as part of a pilot project to use hydrogen-powered equipment.
The authorities want Sakhalin to become the first carbon-free region. Hydrogen will be produced at the hydrogen test site using electrolysis, using solar and wind energy.
This will give science and industry practical experience in working with powerful heavy equipment and will promote our products on the market, including in other regions of the country.
The launch of this project in Sakhalin will allow the development of hydrogen energy, including in the segment of quarry transport.
It should be recalled that the BelAZ hydrogen dump truck, as well as with fuel cells and battery packs, was presented in the fall of 2023.
