A RAF "Aphalina" minibus from 1977 is being sold in Moscow. The uniqueness of this car lies in the fact that it was made in a single copy, since it was never mass-produced. This is a so-called homemade product based on a decommissioned RAF-977 minibus.
Alexey Arsenyev assembled the unusual vehicle. He worked as a repair mechanic in the Moscow garage of the USSR Ministry of Internal Affairs.
The GAZ-21 sedan and GAZ-22 station wagon served as donors for body parts. Some of the trim parts were borrowed from the Chaika and the government ZIM car.
The 2.4-liter engine was taken from the Volga, its power is 85 horsepower, which is quite normal for a 1977 car. A three-speed manual transmission from the GAZ-21 was mated to the engine.
The car was registered with the traffic police, despite its homemade status. You can move around the city in it and even re-register it to a new owner.
RAF "Aphalina" was located in the "Moscow Transport Museum" for a long time. Then the car was bought by an automobile enthusiast. The owner wants 8 million 990 thousand rubles for a unique minibus.
