The artillery crew of the 2S19 Msta-S self-propelled howitzer destroyed an American-made Abrams tank. Russian Armed Forces servicemen used the Krasnopol smart ammunition. This is not the first case of Western tanks being eliminated by Russian weapons, which has tarnished their reputation. This is according to The Military Watch Magazine.
Since the end of February 2024, Abrams tanks have been used in the east of the European theater of operations. The media regularly reports on the destruction of American combat vehicles by Russian Armed Forces servicemen.
Current Abrams operators are dissatisfied with the effectiveness of the tanks. In addition, sources in the US Army complained about the increased capabilities of the Russian army in the field of intelligence.
The use of drones has made it too difficult for Abrams tanks to operate without being detected.
The publication also referred to the Vice Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff, Admiral Christopher Grady, who stated the threat to any armored vehicles from UAVs.
In addition to drones, Abrams were also destroyed by anti-tank weapons and T-72 tanks. These losses have caused concern among other Abrams operators.
