Specialists from the Samara State Medical University (SamSMU), together with the Ministry of Health of the Samara Region, have developed an innovative voice checklist to optimize the surgical intervention process and improve pre-operative preparation. This was reported by the press service of the university.

The development will reduce the frequency of errors and adverse events during operations by 20%.

The checklist created jointly with colleagues from the Ministry of Health, with adapted questions and convenient form filling, thanks to voice input and modern technologies, can significantly improve the quality of preparation for operations.

The software (SW) has been successfully implemented in the clinics of SamSMU and other medical institutions in the region.

The voice chatbot is also integrated with the information system, which significantly relieves medical staff.

The developers adapted and brought the chatbot to the format of the «World Health Organization Surgical Safety Checklist» and the European Society of Thoracic Surgeons (ESTS). The scientists plan to use the new software in all clinics in the country.
