Specialists from the Samara State Medical University (SamSMU), in collaboration with the Ministry of Health of the Samara Region, have developed an innovative voice checklist to optimize the surgical intervention process and improve pre-operative preparation. This was reported by the university's press service.
The development will reduce the frequency of errors and adverse events during operations by 20%.
The checklist, created in collaboration with colleagues from the Ministry of Health, with adapted questions and a convenient form to fill out, allows for a significant improvement in the quality of preparation for operations thanks to voice input and modern technologies.
The software (SW) has been successfully implemented in SamSMU clinics and other medical institutions in the region.
The voice chatbot is also integrated with the information system, which significantly unburdens medical staff.
The developers adapted and brought the chatbot to the format of the "World Health Organization Surgical Safety Checklist" and the European Society of Thoracic Surgeons (ESTS). The scientists plan to use the new software in all clinics in the country.
