Total investment in the project will be about 1 billion rubles, and should quickly pay off due to the public sector. The new Wi-Fi routers will improve on a number of characteristics compared to conventional consumer versions, and will be produced under government contracts for import substitution.
The software for them will be developed by Wimark systems, 20% of which, according to media reports, was bought by the head of Aquarius, Alexey Kalinin, in early 2024.
The company, together with the Russian software developer Wimark systems, will begin production of devices at the plant in Tver by the end of 2024. In the future, the goal is to become a leading player in the corporate and departmental Wi-Fi network market. According to Aquarius estimates, investments in the project could pay off by the end of 2026. Production volume will be tens of thousands of units per year.
In the first year of production, it is planned to produce about 10 thousand Wi-Fi routers.
Earlier, Aquarius presented a new laptop Aquarius Cmp NE355 for working with state secrets and secret corporate data for government agencies and other interested parties. It is in the register of the Ministry of Industry and Trade and is already on sale.
