Hi and Carrera TV production launched at the former Samsung plant in Kaluga

The plant's capacity is used by the "M.Video-Eldorado" Group

The "M.Video-Eldorado" Group has launched the production of TVs under its own brands Hi and Carrera at the former Samsung plant in Kaluga. The electronics production was established by the Russian company VVP Group (LLC "Distribution Center"), which has been leasing the plant since the beginning of 2024. This was reported by sources in the electronics market.

According to informed sources, "M.Video-Eldorado" plans to produce up to 500 thousand TVs per year. At the same time, the cost of assembling one device, excluding the cost of components, varies within 4-6 dollars. Consequently, the assembly of 500 thousand devices will require up to 3 million dollars.

Another source claims that VVP Group planned to produce its own electronics. However, contract manufacturing turned out to be more profitable in the current environment. "M.Video-Eldorado" and VVP Group did not comment on the start of production.
