Wooden Rubles Smell: Sberbank Releases Payment Stickers Not Made of Plastic for the First Time

Limited edition of wooden stickers contains 10 thousand pieces

Sber is the first in Russia to release payment stickers made of oak veneer in a limited series of 10 thousand pieces. The new development was presented by Kirill Tsarev, First Deputy Chairman of the Executive Board of Sberbank, during the St. Petersburg International Economic Forum (SPIEF-2024).

The stickers are serviced on equal terms with Sberbank cards. With their help, a client can withdraw cash from terminals and pay for purchases in a contactless way.

The sticker made of oak veneer has the same payment properties as a classic plastic one. The only difference is that it smells of natural wood.

According to Kirill Tsarev, the new payment instrument is presented in three designs and can be attached to a smartphone. Stickers can be ordered in the "Sberbank Online" mobile application and received by courier delivery or at a selected bank office.

He also noted that the sticker can be linked to an existing Sbercard account or made as a separate card.

Earlier, www1.ru reported that Sber presented the beta version of Kandinsky Video 1.1.
