Трал против «Лепестков»: робот-сапёр «Шмель» прошел испытания в Мариуполе

MGR-4 Created on the Basis of the Ant-1000 Mini-Loader

The Shmel robot sapper, equipped with an anti-mine trawl, has been tested during demining operations in Mariupol in the DPR. This was announced by Alexander Dernovoy, Deputy General Director for the promotion of civilian products of the High-Precision Complexes holding (part of Rostec).

According to him, in 2023, the holding presented a robot with a pilot cabin. The Ministry of Emergency Situations asked the developers to remove the cabin to eliminate the risk to the sapper. Dernovoy noted that the robotic platform received a remote control system with external cameras and sensors. The operator can control the "Shmel" from a distance of 1000 m.

And for a year there have been a number of tests, and they, by the way, are still ongoing. Including in Mariupol. Tests were also conducted at one of the training grounds in the DPR.

Dernovoy added that several units are now performing demining tasks in the new regions.

About MGR-4 "Shmel"

The "Shmel" is a robotic demining complex that was created on the basis of the Ant-1000 mini-loader. It is equipped with a hydraulically driven winch and a new anti-mine trawl.

The trawl is effective against small anti-personnel mines, including the particularly dangerous "Petals". The developers adapted the dimensions of the "Shmel" to the dimensions of a standard truck, which is convenient for its transportation.
