The National Research University "Higher School of Economics" (HSE University), in collaboration with the creators of Yandex Cloud, has developed a special chatbot to help applicants choose a study program, the university's press service reported.
The neural network was trained using the RAG (Retrieval Augmented Generation) method. The system analyzes user responses and suggests suitable educational programs.
Specialists at HSE University emphasized that the university's website is visited by more than 7,000 people daily. They choose a program from several hundred options.
The new bot, which uses generative models, will greatly simplify this process, helping applicants get a balanced answer to the question "What will I become when I grow up?".
In the future, the university plans to use YandexGPT API for other tasks as well. For example, to recommend that students improve their knowledge of a subject or help with the choice of a term paper topic.
