The Russian arms manufacturer Kalashnikov has delivered a large batch of 9M333 guided anti-aircraft missiles (SAMs) to the customer under the 2024 state defense order.
The 9M333 SAM missile is used as part of the Strela-10M3 anti-aircraft missile system (SAM) and is designed to engage low-flying targets in the presence of various types of interference, eliminate cruise missiles, and remotely piloted aircraft. The missile's homing head has several operating modes, which is a significant advantage over other ammunition of this class.
In flight, the average speed of the missile is about 550 meters per second, and it is capable of destroying targets at a distance of up to 5,000 meters. The missile operates on a "fire-and-forget" principle. Kalashnikov has been producing the 9M333 SAM since 2022.
Earlier, www1.ru reported that Russia patented a new hybrid jet-guided munition.
