Russia has joined the participants in preparing the UN General Assembly resolution on artificial intelligence (AI) initiated by China. This was announced by the official representative of the Russian Foreign Ministry, Maria Zakharova.
At the end of March, the UN General Assembly adopted a resolution on AI initiated by the United States. The document calls for increased funding for "safe, secure, and reliable artificial intelligence systems."
The Chinese version of the resolution differs from the document prepared by the United States, which was also co-authored by 120 countries. At the same time, Russia did not participate in its development.
The current work of China and Russia on the resolution means that both countries view the problem of AI regulation from similar positions, said China expert Leonid Kovacic. He emphasized that China is among the leaders in this area.
Earlier www1.ru reported that the United States did not allow Russia to ban weapons in space at the UN level.
