Telephone scammers have found a new way to extort money from gullible people. Posing as bank employees, they ask them to report the code from SMS under the pretext of extending the validity of a debit card.
Scammers send a phishing link to install malicious software and ask them to send them the code from the message. After that, they get access to online banking and have the opportunity to apply for loans or withdraw money.
Mostly, scammers contact victims through fake bank accounts in messengers. The logo of a large bank and a photograph create the illusion of reality.
The recipe for dealing with scammers is simple, you need to regularly have conversations with relatives and friends, especially older ones, and remind them that real bank employees never ask for the code from SMS. In case of any suspicious activity, call your bank.
Earlier, Russians were warned about a new way of deception under the guise of recalculating funds in the Social Fund.
