Russian President Vladimir Putin signed a decree on the composition of the new government on May 14. The candidacies were approved after consultations in the State Duma and the Federation Council. The document was published on the Kremlin website.
Former Deputy Prime Minister Andrey Belousov became the new head of the Ministry of Defense. Maksut Shadaev retained his post as Minister of Digital Development, Communications and Mass Media.
The portfolio of Minister of Industrial Policy and Trade was received by the former Governor of the Kaliningrad Region, Anton Alikhanov. The Ministry of Energy was headed by the former Governor of the Kemerovo Region, Sergey Tsivilev.
The former Governor of the Kursk Region, Roman Starovoit, became the Minister of Transport. The Minister for the Development of the Far East and the Arctic, Alexey Chekunkov, also retained his post.
