PJSC "KamAZ" has regained its leadership in the new truck market in Russia for the first time since the beginning of the year. It was able to overtake Chinese manufacturers. Last month, 2,118 KamAZ trucks were sold.
Thus, in April, KamAZ occupied 19% of the new truck market. Sitrak is in second place with 12.5%. Shacman ranks third, whose share in the new truck market in April amounted to 12%, FAW is fourth with 10.6%, and Dongfeng is in fifth place with 7%.
A total of 11,125 new trucks were sold in April. Since the beginning of the year — 40.3 thousand units. This is 4.5% more than in the same period in 2023.
Analysts believe that in the future it will be difficult for Chinese manufacturers to compete with the Russian truck giant. The fact is that from July 1, the recycling fee for imported heavy trucks will be increased in the country. KamAZ CEO Sergey Kogogin believes that after that the truck market in Russia will fall by 20%.
