Telegram has long been used by scammers as a platform for fraud. This time, the attackers came up with a new way to steal data. This was reported by Roskachestvo, which has recently received a large number of complaints about scammers who have become active in Telegram.
The potential victim is informed that they have received a request to delete the account, and are offered to cancel the procedure if necessary. To do this, the person is advised to go to a phishing site that resembles Telegram in terms of interface, enter their phone number and security code. Having received the necessary data, the attackers gain access to the account, correspondence and channel management.
Experts from Roskachestvo also reminded messenger users that they should not neglect security rules to protect their data. You should create strong passwords, use two-factor authentication, do not follow links to dubious third-party resources and never send your payment details.
